Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is your financial policy? Do
you take insurance?
A: We are a fee-for-service clinic. Therefore, full payment is
expected at the time of service. Insurance payments are not
accepted, but a receipt that includes information needed to receive
compensation from most insurance providers is given following each
appointment.
Q: How often do you expect to see someone?
A: The short answer is that the frequency of treatment varies with each
individual. However, several general guidelines are suggested.
Weekly appointments are ideal, especially at the beginning of treatment,
primarily in order to gain relational comfort and consistency.
Following the initial stages of treatment, the frequency will vary
depending on the unique needs of the individual.
Q: How long does treatment typically last?
A: Again, the short answer is that the duration of treatment varies with
each individual. For acute symptom relief, treatment can typically
be effective within the first several weeks. For more
long-standing concerns, the length of treatment can extend for longer
periods of time.
Q: Do you ever recommend medications?
Do you prescribe medications?
A: I do, on occasion, recommend someone for a medication evaluation.
However, I do not prescribe medications. I do make referrals to
several local, outstanding psychiatrists.
